LHS’ YBASU Black History Month Assembly

On Friday, February 24, our YBASU Club put on an assembly that was both educational and entertaining. Mrs. Wright opened the assembly by signing the Black National Anthem. The club educated us on the importance and meaning of Kwanzaa. Ms. Pullman presented her moving spoken word poem entitled, “Unbroken Chain.” A Lynwood Knight, Sa’Niah, presented her inspirational poem entitled, “Dear Black Girl.” LHS Dance and Cheer teams performed their well-choreographed dances/cheers to iconic songs by Black artists. Amongst this, students from the crowd participated in games where they were asked to guess the name or finish the lyrics of a song. YBASU and their advisors worked tirelessly to put together this amazing assembly. Thank you to everyone who watched and supported.
