Lynwood High’s Future Campus Takes Shape Ahead of 2027-28 Opening

Lynwood Unified School District continues to make significant progress on the Lynwood High School reconstruction project, set to be completed for the 2027-28 school year, delivering modern, student-centered campus facilities geared towards the overall success and safety of incoming Knights.

Major structural work is underway on the new academic building, with nearly all interior and exterior design selections being finalized. The campus will incorporate modern design features, including extended rooflines, shaded outdoor areas and polished concrete flooring, while side-plate steel construction will support overall safety and long-term structural performance.

The project will bring new learning spaces to campus, including an Industrial Arts and Career Technical Education facility designed to support various in demand and hands-on career pathway experiences. A dedicated kiln classroom with a covered outdoor workspace will expand visual arts instruction providing students with additional opportunities for creative industrial pathways.

Campus enhancements will include a redesigned central quad, new shade structures, campus monuments, entry features, and a second amphitheater as a space for outdoor learning and school events. Athletic field renovations were completed in time for the Class of 2026 commencement ceremonies, while the larger sports complex project remains on track for completion ahead of the 2027-28 school year.

The Lynwood High School reconstruction project represents a transformational community investment towards student success.
